The moveonnet workgroup

Together with major European institutions, unisolution launched the moveonnet work group in October 2006 to develop electronic procedures for standardising and simplifying the main communication processes between partner institutions within international mobility activities. The moveonnet work group consists of 24 institutions of Higher Education including e.g. the University of Bristol, Leibniz Universität Hannover, the Université Toulouse 1 and the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt Oder). The following three procedures have been defined for implementation by the work group:

e-nomination - The standard electronic procedure for the nomination of exchange students
e-agreements - The standard electronic procedure for the edition of exchange agreements
e-transcripts - The standard electronic procedure for the exchange of curriculum data of exchange students

Status

The first of the three procedures, e-nomination, was completely defined and successfully launched at the beginning of 2007. More than 7,000 exchange students were nominated with e-nomination in 2008. After a successful test phase the e-agreements procedures was launched in February 2008. Regarding the procedure e-transcripts the requirements for the implementation have been discussed and defined.

Aims and schedule for 2008/09

The work group continues with the development of the e-transcripts with the aim to reduce hurdles for exchange students regarding the recognition of their courses attended abroud. Based on the work done in 2007/2008 and the already existing prototype, the work group will develop a tool which automates and secures the whole process, beginning from the creation of a Learning Agreement to the Transcript of Records.
