General Information
| Courses are taught in French.
One-year course offered in English in Business Administration at undergraduate level (30 ECTS credits at each semester). Placements and project work in laboratories available with English tutoring for students in sciences, computer science, engineering and technology (Master and Doctorate levels). Subjects to be discussed with scientific staff. |

| Academic year from early September to early July divided into two semesters:
autumn (odd) semester from week 36 (September) to week 3 (January) with 13 weeks of teaching and 6 weeks examination; spring (even) semester from week 4 (January) to week 26 (July) with 14 weeks of teaching and 6 weeks examination. Information specific to exchange students
| After the nomination from the home institution, each student has to send to the international relations office of UVHC following documents along with the application form which is to be completed online at http://www.univ-valenciennes.fr/etrangers/en/admissions-framework-exchange-programme-8 : proposed learning agreement, certificate of registration and transcript of records of home institution.

| No formal language requirements for exchange students. Exchange students should be selected carefully by their home institution and should get their French level evaluated before applying. For French studies, the minimum level recommended is B2/C1. For other courses the minium level should be B1 (according to CECRL). | |
| 15 June : for autumn semester or whole academic year;
1 December : for spring semester. For laboratory project work : 6 weeks prior to the start of the project. |

| Accommodation available for international exchange students at two halls of residence run by the CROUS - on campus and in the town center (prizes vary from 200 EUR up to 320 EUR per month). | For exchange students : No fees for tuition, registration, examination and access to facilities such as laboratories, libraries or language centers.
For non EEE members it is compulsory to join the "Sécurité Sociale Etudiante" in France and an annual fee of 198 € has to be paid upon registration (academic year 2009/2010). |

| It is strongly recommended to attend the integration seminar which is offered free of charge to international exchange students before classes begin. The seminar covers discovery of Valenciennes area, the University resources and facilities and assistance for all the administrative procedures necessary for settling in.
