General Information
| The language of instruction at Istanbul University is in Turkish. Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Business Management have seperate departments in which the language of instruction is English. In foreign language departments of Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education and Faculty of Letters students are also instructed in target language besides Turkish. Faculty of Science, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department provides English curriculum for Erasmus students.

Information specific to exchange students
| Istanbul University has an Online Application system for international Erasmus exchange students. Subsequent to their nomination, students submit an online application and also mail their application form to the International Academic Relations Committee, Erasmus Coordination Committee

| Erasmus Programme Students who are registered for Istanbul University Language Center Turkish Unit, first take a level-determination examination. According to the results of the examinations, they are separated into classes.
Basic Turkish I-II Intermediate Turkish I-II Advanced Turkish I-II A suitable programme is applied for each class. |
