Chalmers - for a sustainable future
It is a vision that I hope will inspire us all to adopt a broader approach when the technical solutions of the future are created with a combined long and short term perspective. Superb academic environments have been developed at Chalmers through many years of prominent education and research, environments that often have a close interaction with industry and society, both on a global as well as a local scale.

The foundation university is establishing new working methods to strengthen its work and enhance its impact on the surrounding world. The foundation arrangement also provides greater freedom concerning career paths, ownership and responsibility of meeting places and the process of innovation. A wholehearted commitment to a sustainable future underlies the new strategy. We take advantage of Chalmers’ strengths and opportunities in order to further develop the collaboration with broad social sectors, other areas of research and with different companies and organisations so that groundbreaking competency and organisational development leaves a positive impression on society.

It is my belief that Chalmers will succeed in becoming even more attractive to the students of the future, employees and collaborative partners. The excellent study environment that exists is becoming more and more open and dynamic. There, the needs of working life and the opportunities afforded by new knowledge are met and provide the inspiration to contribute strongly to the essential efforts for a sustainable future.
