The Utrecht Network is a European consortium of 30 universities in 28 countries that work together in the area of the internationalisation of higher education. All member institutions are comprehensive universities. Most EU countries are represented, in Western as well as in Central Europe.
The activities carried out by the Utrecht Network cover the entire, broad range of the internationalisation of higher education. The group is active in the areas of student mobility, staff exchange, summer schools, internationalisation of curricula and implementing the plans that were laid down in the Bologna Declaration. Right from the start in 1987, the approach was aimed at co-operation at an institutional level, which makes the Utrecht Network a group that may truly be regarded as both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary.
In addition, as a consortium, the group works with external partner networks in Australia and the United States.
